Pushkar Fair
Every year on the Full Moon of Kartik Poornima almost 200,000 people drove to Pushkar from different parts of the country bringing with them 50,000 herd of cattle’s, camel racing and kaleidoscopic festivities that goes for several days.

It is a fair of colors, cloths, camels and cattle’s. Besides marketing of horses, camels, cows and bulls, there are exhilarating camel-cart races and cultural events. The camels are festooned with ornaments and delightful colors. The race is cherished by thousands of visitors coming from all over the world.


Pushkar Lake
Located 11 kms from Ajmer, the sacred lake of Pushkar is believed to have been created by Lord Brahma. It is as holy as the rivers of Benaras or Puri. Devotees believe that one will not attain salvation without paying a visit and bathing in this divine lake.

Pushkar treasures 400 exquisite temples and 52 enchanting ghats adorned with glittering blue waters. While Pushkar is a paradise for the religiously inclined, it is also an arcadia for the country's most colorful cattle fairs - the Pushkar Fair.

Mode of Transport
Air: The nearest airport from Pushkar is Jaipur. Jaipur is well connected to all the major cities, that include Delhi, Munbai, Jodhpur, Udaipur. The flights from Dubai have also started for Pushkar by the Indian Airlines.

Train: The nearest railhead is Ajmer, which is on the Broad Gauge and hence connected to all the metro cities of India. Shatabadhi Express runs daily from Delhi in morning.

Road: Pushkar is 11 km from main Ajmer bus stand. Rajasthan Transport Corporation runs deluxe buses from Jaipur. There are buses from Jaipur to Ajmer every 15 minutes, some nonstop.
